School-to-School Campaign and Radio Promotion of SSEAYP and MBC Project

On January 2006 I have embarked on school-to-school campaign for the SSEAYP program and Mail Buddies Club: Connecting Youth to the World (MBC) Project. The latter is a project passed by the REN 2005 SCA group that aims to connect youths from different countries through electronic mail or snail mail. This project targets youths from ages 12-20 years old. Their communication hub is the yahoo site:

I have visited some schools in my local area in the province of Ilocos Norte and even went to another island province of Palawan and have talked to high school and college students. Several of them have expressed their eagerness in the two programs and have signed in to join MBC project where they will have the chance to meet youths from other countries.

Three countries are currently active members of the MBC project namely: the Philippines, Kingdom of Bahrain and United Mexican States. Ms. May Khalfan of Bahrain and Ms. Aura Ceron of Mexico have recruited youths from their countries to this project. I have enjoined other ex-Pys to provide youths from their respective countries and still waiting for their responses.

A featured attraction for the overseas MBC members that I announced recently is the awarding of a set of samples of Philippine money to the most active member of the group. Awarding will be done sometime in October 2006.

SSEAYP Screening and Selection

On May 10, 2006, I was asked by the Office of the President under National Youth Commission to sit as one of the panel members representing SSEAYP International Philippines (SIP) in the screening and selection of the delegates for the 33rd Ship for Southeast Asian Youth Program. Several applicants showed up for the interview and screening.
